A highly entertaining, carefully researched novel, set through the end of the XVIII and the beginning of the XIX century in Europe. A story inspired by true events in which the main character leads us on a journey from Paris to Saint Petersburg. He travels by road, leaving behind the political chaos of the French Revolution and after his adventure in Tsarist St Petersburg, he returns home through the Baltic and the North Sea. This arduous journey takes weeks where the unforeseen, the danger, the curiosity, the exploration of the old cities, and the variety of engaging fellow travelers, pave his way to new friendships and emerging possibilities. This elegant mix of Champagne and Vodka results in a sparkling historical novel. Beautifully and sensitively written, this utterly engaging and effervescent literary creation captures the atmosphere of this turbulent time in French and European history.
